What Deluxe actually buys
Deluxe Edition is Standard plus three locomotives and five days of early access from 10 September 2026. It is not a fourth core route. The Northern Class 333 layers onto Airedale & Wharfedale. The Tri-Rail GP49H-3 layers onto Florida Tri-Rail. The DB BR 412 ICE 4 layers onto Nürnberg–Würzburg. Full launch for every edition is 15 September 2026.
If you only want one of those cabs after 15 September, Free Starter owners can buy routes and Deluxe locos separately. During early access they come as the Deluxe or Ultimate bundle. Compare SKUs on the editions comparison. Standard traction without these three is listed on standard locomotives.
Early access times: consoles 16:00 BST and Steam/Epic 18:00 BST on 10 September 2026. Deluxe is a single-player extra, not a multiplayer tier.
Northern Class 333
Sixteen Class 333 units were built in 2001 for the newly electrified Airedale and Wharfedale lines out of Leeds and Bradford. They arrived as three-car sets and were quickly extended to four cars to soak commuter peaks. The cab is the fishbowl: a deep, rounded windscreen that is the reason people search this train by nickname instead of TOPS number. The TSW7 model is the refurbished Northern four-car set, not the original three-car delivery.
In the sim the 333 is not a reskin of the Class 331. It is a different body, cab, and timetable slice: Skipton shuttles, Bradford-bound runs, and Ilkley locals alongside the 331 fleet. Dovetail recorded both classes at Neville Hill with Northern’s help. Drive the 333 for the classic Leeds unit; drive the 331 for the modern CAF Civity. Training Center includes a 333 tutorial. You still need the Yorkshire route, or buy Deluxe.
Tri-Rail GP49H-3
Tri-Rail’s GP49H-3 fleet started life as Norfolk Southern Geeps, rebuilt with head-end power so they could heat and light a passenger consist. Half a dozen entered service in 2006. When the BL36PH arrived they were pushed into maintenance and backup work rather than retired outright. That is the job in Train Sim World 7: deputise on passenger diagrams, then pick up ballast and extra work trains when the railroad needs a rattly four-axle diesel instead of the modern cab.
The model wears Tri-Rail white and blue stripes, not CSX paint. It is not a substitute SD40-2. Passenger, rescue, and work trains sit in scenarios and timetable. Dovetail recorded the real machines in Miami; the cab is supposed to feel loose and mechanical next to the BL36PH. Own Florida Tri-Rail or the Deluxe bundle. The GP49H-3 without the Miami–Boca map is a spare engine.
DB BR 412 ICE 4
ICE 4 is the Deluxe headline and the most requested German train in Train Sim World. Siemens-led sets entered service in 2016 as BR 412, replacing older IC and ICE diagrams. Train Sim World 7 includes the 12-car and 13-car formations, not the short seven-car set. On Nürnberg–Würzburg, Deluxe adds 32 ICE passenger services between Nürnberg Hbf and Würzburg Hbf, split evenly between the two lengths, plus extra AI appearances at Nürnberg and Fürth. ICE 1 remains in Standard; ICE 4 does not overwrite it.
The cab is a later-generation ICE desk. Safety systems default on. Livery Designer is not supported on ICE 4. Players who own Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg–Ingolstadt can take ICE 4 onto that railway through a new timetable once compatible content is in.
Own Nürnberg–Würzburg or Deluxe. ICE 4 without that route still has Free Roam value on other German high-speed add-ons you already own, but the designed job is the Bavarian corridor.
Early access and Ultimate
Deluxe and Ultimate open five days early. That window is for these three locos plus the three core routes, not for the full back catalogue on consoles. Steam can use compatible content during early access; PlayStation and Xbox wait for 15 September. Ultimate adds the same three Deluxe locos, then piles on Train Sim World 6 Deluxe routes: Riviera Line, CrossCountry Class 220, Leipzig–Dresden, Nahverkehr Dresden, DB BR 294, Morristown Line, and NJ Transit ALP-45DP. Buy Ultimate if you missed TSW6 Deluxe. Buy Deluxe if you only want 333, GP49H-3, and ICE 4 on the new maps.
Do not open ICE 4 as your first Train Sim World 7 cab unless you already know PZB. Sit a Class 331 or BR 440 first, then the Deluxe extra in the same country. Leave beginner controls on until door drills are muscle memory. Getting started is the onboarding spine; game modes tells you which tile is Timetable.
Freight Hauler does not need these three locos. Use Standard freight traction for unscripted wagons. The trains hub is the catalogue index. Partner add-ons after full launch, starting with the Tadami Line on 29 September 2026, sit on the roadmap. If you bought Deluxe only for ICE 4, still finish one Yorkshire stopper so the rest of the sim does not feel like a tech demo of a single white train.

Is the Class 333 a reskin of the Class 331?
