Florida Tri-Rail in Train Sim World 7
Miami Airport to Boca Raton with Tri-Rail push-pull, CSX locals, and Dura-Max rock hoppers.
Florida Tri-Rail is the US core route in Train Sim World 7 and the first time the Sunshine State appears in the series. The modelled railway runs Miami Airport to Boca Raton: more than 45 miles, 13 stations, and a little over an hour end to end. Full launch is 15 September 2026. Deluxe and Ultimate editions open five days of early access from 10 September 2026, which is when the GP49H-3 joins the passenger pool.
New drivers should still finish Training Center with getting started before chasing a hurricane scenario. Compare this corridor with Airedale & Wharfedale and Nürnberg–Würzburg from the routes hub if you want EMUs or ICE instead of Florida diesels.
Passenger timetable
The passenger layer is a standard hourly service through the day. The BL36PH is the primary locomotive, in Tri-Rail Palm Tree and dark blue liveries. The F40PH-3C covers substitutions. Deluxe players also get the GP49H-3. Two express services are included for non-stop runs. Miami Airport to Boca Raton takes a little over an hour each way.
Push-pull rules matter. Locomotives always face south. Rotem cab cars work northbound. Southbound trains approaching Metrorail Transfer always have a red until they are cleared to cross the FEC line. The last service of the day is a double formation, matching the real diagram. There is also a low chance a service may be double-headed.
Depot work fills the gaps. Trains come in and out of service through the day, which gives shorter empty runs. One Deluxe job even has you switch Rotem cars and make up a formation before entering service; you can do that work with any Tri-Rail equipment. Unique GP49H-3 ballast trains run in each direction. Static Amfleet I stock sits in the depot and at Amtrak’s Miami station as a daily presence; in reality those would be Amfleet IIs, and the layer can be disabled.
CSX freight
Freight is the other half of the route. CSX locals are mostly switching and delivery to nearby industries, not a single through manifest. The GP38-2 makes and breaks trains for transfers up and down the line, including switching at Pompano and drop-offs at Fort Lauderdale. To reach local industries, freight often runs on the wrong track, so other services swap tracks to avoid or overtake the local.
The SD40-2 takes heavier local turns, Hialeah Yard switching, and a pair of rock trains using the Dura-Max rock hopper. Both CSX locomotives and the freight equipment you interact with through the day are included. In all, about 18 hours of timetabled freight operations sit on the corridor.
A Clinchfield caboose stands in the CSX yard because it is there in reality. Norfolk Southern scrap wagons from Horseshoe Curve appear as layered flavour if you own that add-on. Sand Patch Grade owners can drive the AC4400CW on a handful of freight services. None of that replaces the included GP38-2 and SD40-2 work.

Welcome to Miami is an Airport-to-Airport express on the BL36PH framed as a race against a plane. CSX: Miami puts the GP38-2 on a hunt for missing freight cars around Miami industries. Tonight’s the Night uses the F40PH-3C to prepare the railroad for a fast-approaching hurricane. Miami Metro is a Rotem cab-car passenger running behind delayed freight, with the job of holding time. The Heat fails the air-con on a Rotem and BL36 formation, so you help passengers and bring the train in for repairs.
Deluxe scenarios are Mic Drop (a facsimile of an audio recording session from a Dovetail research trip to the Tri-Rail facility), Support Act (deadhead to collect a failed train and finish its run), and Slo Rida (evening rush in torrential rain).
Deluxe GP49H-3 and editions
The GP49H-3 is the Deluxe Florida extra. It covers passenger substitutions, depot make-up, and the ballast turns. It is not required to drive the BL36PH timetable or the CSX locals. See deluxe locomotives and compare SKUs on editions. The trains hub lists core and Deluxe traction together.
Standard includes this route with the three core railways. Deluxe and Ultimate add the GP49H-3 plus five days of early access from 10 September 2026. Ultimate also bundles selected Train Sim World 6 Deluxe routes; that bundle does not change the Florida corridor itself.
How this route plays next to the others
Yorkshire is swapping EMU diagrams and a limestone flow. Germany is 717 mixed services and ICE. Florida is hourly push-pull plus almost a full day of CSX switching. If you want freight without a German Vectron or a UK Class 66, start here after Training Center.
