Train Sim World 7 Updates Hub
Early access from 10 September 2026, full launch 15 September, then Tadami Line and partner add-ons.
What this hub tracks
Train Sim World 7 is in a short early-access window for Deluxe and Ultimate, then a full launch, then a year of partner add-ons. This hub is the calendar, not the cab catalogue. Use it when you need a date, a preload rule, or a name from the August 2026 roadmap. Traction lists live on the trains hub. Maps live on the routes hub. Procedure lives on the guides hub.
Two child pages cover the near term. The launch page is platform times, edition downloads, and compatibility during early access. The roadmap is everything Dovetail and partners lined up after 15 September 2026, starting with the Tadami Line on 29 September. Seasonal update checkpoints follow in winter and spring.
The sim is single-player. Dates below do not unlock a shared session. Other trains on your timetable are AI, including the new conductor workflow.
The launch window
Full launch is 15 September 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Deluxe and Ultimate open five days of early access from 10 September 2026: 16:00 BST on Xbox and PlayStation, 18:00 BST on Steam and Epic. Standard, Free Starter, and anyone who skipped Deluxe wait for the 15th.
Preload is uneven. PlayStation can preload 48 hours before early access or release. Xbox can preload from the pre-order date. Steam and Epic have no preload; those clients download when the relevant gate opens. Exact store clocks can drift by a few minutes. If your library is empty after you click Play, you are probably in the Free Starter executable before route add-ons finished. Standard needs Free Starter plus four route add-on downloads. Close the game and wait. The step-by-step is how to download Train Sim World 7.
Compatible older add-ons get a Train Sim World 7 download when Dovetail marks them ready. Steam can use that library during early access. Consoles wait for full launch. After 15 September, Free Starter owners can buy the three core routes and Deluxe locos separately instead of a boxed edition. SKU math is on editions.
What changes in the client
Train Sim World 7 is not only new maps. The menu is rebuilt, loading is faster, and field of view scales from 60 to 120 degrees. Safety systems default on. Live Weather needs a Dovetail Live login. PC picks up DirectX 12, an Epic quality preset, DLSS 4.5, FSR 4, Steam Cloud, and Enhanced Lighting on TOD4 routes. Dovetail hoped for Steam Deck verification; treat handheld play as a bonus. Hardware floors sit on system requirements. Presets and upscalers sit on graphics settings.
New play loops you will actually search for: Freight Hauler for unscripted wagons on core routes, beginner controls as a first-week toggle, and game modes so you stop guessing which tile is Timetable. None of those replace the launch-day install order.
After 15 September
The first dated add-on is Tadami Line: Aizu-Wakamatsu to Tadami from Union Workshop on 29 September 2026, with the KiHa 40 on narrow gauge and ATS. That is Japan in Train Sim World for the first time. It is not a launch-day substitute for Yorkshire, Florida, or Bavaria.
Behind it sits a long partner list from the August 2026 roadmap: Neckartalbahn with BR 23 steam (TSG), Cumbrian Coast (Just Trains), Rhein-Niers-Bahn (FolezzWorld), Lisbon–Setúbal (VirtuaVia360), Southern Pacific Ore Lines (High Iron Sim), Birmingham–Shrewsbury (All Aboard), Atlantic Coast Par–Newquay (Brass Can), ÖBB Expert Railjet (TSG), NJ Transit Bergen Line (Dovetail), Northern Trans-Pennine remastered with Class 37 (PixelPunk), Amsterdam–Den Haag (Dovetail), ECML King’s Cross (Alan Thomson), GWR Class 387 (Grump Dog), Northern Class 158 (Skyhook), Class 466 and Sheerness (Firefly), DB BR 212 V100 (TSG), and a Romanian route (Railforge). Most of those have no public day yet. Do not treat the list as a week-by-week calendar.
Dovetail also framed a seasonal update roadmap: larger patches, requested features, and mastery beats bunched into winter and spring checkpoints instead of a surprise patch every Friday. When those notes land, this hub will point at them the same way it points at launch and Tadami.
How to read these pages
If you are downloading this week, open the launch page and the download guide, then pick one core route. If you are shopping for what comes after ICE 4, open the roadmap and wishlist Tadami. If you still need a cab, go back to standard locomotives or deluxe locomotives.
Do not wait for Amsterdam, Bergen, or Romania before you drive. Those projects were announced in August 2026 with no ship date. The playable set in the launch window is Airedale & Wharfedale, Florida Tri-Rail, Nürnberg–Würzburg, and, for Deluxe, the three extra locos. Everything else is a later ticket.
When a patch note or add-on date moves, believe Dovetail’s store page over a screenshot in a Discord. This wiki follows official roadmaps and support articles, then updates the child pages. The hub exists so you have one place to see the next date without scrolling a year of marketing posts.
