Nürnberg–Würzburg in Train Sim World 7

Bahnstrecke Nürnberg–Würzburg is the German core route in Train Sim World 7. The modelled railway runs more than 100 km from Nürnberg Hbf to Würzburg Hbf via Neustadt (Aisch), including Nürnberg Rbf, with 19 stations and 717 services. Full launch is 15 September 2026. Deluxe and Ultimate editions open five days of early access from 10 September 2026, which is when ICE 4 (BR 412) adds 32 extra ICE diagrams.

This corridor is the dense option. Yorkshire is a branching commuter network. Florida is hourly push-pull plus CSX locals. Franconia mixes S-Bahn, regional, ICE, and about 100 freight paths on one main line. New drivers should still finish Training Center with getting started before a 13-car ICE 4. Regional, S-Bahn, and ICE

The new DB BR 440 is the regional centrepiece. Its primary job is RE10 between Nürnberg Hbf and Würzburg Hbf, with shorter RE10 workings between Würzburg and Kitzingen. There are 40 full-length and 19 shorter RE10 services, plus empty stock. The same class also covers 44 RB53 services between Rottendorf and Würzburg, with extra AI around Würzburg Hbf.

DB BR 442 Talent 2 handles much of the S-Bahn timetable plus RE14, RE20, and RE28. Across the represented S1, S2, S6, and those regional turns, the 442 has 333 services. That S-Bahn layer is why the route feels busy even when you are not on ICE.

Longer-distance passenger uses the included DB BR 401 ICE 1 on a handful of Nürnberg–Würzburg workings. A distinctive DB BR 193 Vectron and double-deck formation operates RE19 between Fürth (Bay) Hbf and Nürnberg Hbf. By default those RE19s use the included DB Vectron; a Railpool Vectron can substitute if you own it.

Freight across Franconia

Vectron BR 193 also forms the core freight timetable, with about 100 services across intermodal, manifests, Habbiins, tankers, cars, and light-engine moves. Many freight workings run between Nürnberg Rbf Ausfahrt and Würzburg Hbf. Selected paths take a different line via Nürnberg Jansenbrücke.

As on other German Train Sim World timetables, other freight locomotives from your collection can substitute, including DB and MRCE BR 185s and the ÖBB 1116. The result is a corridor where regional EMUs, S-Bahn, ICE, and freight constantly interact. Deluxe ICE 4

Deluxe and Ultimate add DB BR 412 ICE 4. It operates an extra 32 ICE passenger services between Nürnberg Hbf and Würzburg Hbf, evenly split between 12-car and 13-car variants, plus extra AI at Nürnberg and Fürth. That is a second generation of high-speed traction on a timetable that already includes ICE 1.

Scenarios

Five scenarios ship with the route. Deluxe ICE 4 adds three more.

Track Works Ahead puts a BR 440 on single-track running between Siegelsdorf and Hagenbüchach. Put it on ICE is a BR 401 driver change at Siegelsdorf with an unusual stopping pattern. Square Dance is a handful of Vectron jobs around the area. Back on Track is a BR 440 recovering after being held for an ICE. Nighty Night parks stock ahead of the next day.

Deluxe scenarios are Point Break (freezing temperatures causing havoc with signals and points on BR 412), ICE Skates (a cancelled RE that forces unusual ICE 4 stops), and Then and Now (a display working that runs parallel with an ICE 1 toward Nürnberg).

Post-release Nürnberg–Ingolstadt timetable

A post-release extra timetable on Nürnberg–Ingolstadt is planned to use the updated ICE 1, ICE 4, and BR 442. That layer is not a fourth core route and it is not Tadami Line. Tadami is a Japan add-on dated 29 September 2026. Track both on the roadmap.

Compatible German add-ons can also layer extra ICE 3, ICE-T, Nightjet, and local freight onto this corridor after you own them. Those layers sit in the layer selector; they do not replace the 717 included services.

How to start on this route

Do not open with ICE 4. Take the route introduction, then a BR 440 RE10 or a BR 442 S-Bahn turn, then a Vectron freight, then ICE 1, then Deluxe ICE 4 if you own it. That order teaches the corridor speeds and the Würzburg/Nürnberg station throats before a 13-car set.

Standard includes this route with the other two core railways. Deluxe and Ultimate add ICE 4 and five days of early access from 10 September 2026. Ultimate also bundles selected Train Sim World 6 Deluxe routes; that bundle does not replace this Franconian main line.
