Train Sim World 7 Launch Window
Deluxe and Ultimate from 10 September 2026; full launch 15 September 2026.
Dates and platform clocks
Train Sim World 7 has two gates, not one. Deluxe and Ultimate editions open early access from 10 September 2026. Full launch for every edition, including Standard and Free Starter, is 15 September 2026. Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox for PC. There is no PlayStation 4 or Xbox One build.
Early access times on 10 September 2026: 16:00 BST on Xbox and PlayStation, 18:00 BST on Steam and Epic. Use those same offsets as the working assumption for 15 September unless your store page shows a different local clock. Store fronts can drift by a few minutes. If the tile is still locked, wait; do not rebuild your library.
This is a single-player launch. Early access does not add a lobby. Other trains, and the conductor role, are AI.
Who can play on which day
10 September 2026 is Deluxe and Ultimate only. Standard pre-orders, Free Starter, and anyone who bought a core route without Deluxe wait until 15 September. The three Deluxe locomotives — Class 333, GP49H-3, ICE 4 — arrive with that early window. They are documented on deluxe locomotives. Standard traction is playable on the 15th; the list is on standard locomotives.
A 10% pre-order or loyalty discount sits on selected storefronts until full launch. That discount is not extra content. Ultimate is Deluxe plus selected Train Sim World 6 Deluxe routes: Riviera Line, CrossCountry Class 220, Leipzig–Dresden, Nahverkehr Dresden, DB BR 294, Morristown Line, and NJ Transit ALP-45DP. Compare the four SKUs on editions before you assume Ultimate is a fourth new TSW7 map.
Preload rules
Preload is not universal.
- PlayStation: 48 hours before early access or release, depending on which SKU you own.
- Xbox: from the pre-order date.
- Steam: no preload.
- Epic Games Store: no preload.
If you are on Steam or Epic, plan the download on the morning the gate opens, not the night before. Console players who preloaded still need to let add-ons finish. Exact start minutes can vary; Dovetail’s support table is the source, not a countdown widget.
What Standard actually downloads
Standard Edition is not one package. Dovetail’s support article is blunt: to have everything Standard includes you download five items — the Free Starter Edition plus four route add-ons. The game can boot after Starter alone. The menu then looks empty because the routes are still in the queue. Close the client. Let the four add-ons finish. Then open it again.
Deluxe and Ultimate add the three loco add-ons on top of that stack. Ultimate also pulls the TSW6 Deluxe bundle, which is more downloads, not a single extra installer. Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Epic, and the Xbox PC app each hide add-ons in a different manage-game screen. Follow how to download Train Sim World 7 instead of guessing from a TSW5 habit.
After 15 September 2026, Free Starter remains the no-cost Training Center. From that date you can buy the three core routes and the Deluxe locos separately and assemble your own edition. That path does not exist as a substitute for Deluxe early access on the 10th; it is a post-launch option.
Compatible content during early access
Older Train Sim World add-ons need a Train Sim World 7 download when Dovetail marks them compatible. Features may stay as they were in the original title. Steam players can use that library during early access. PlayStation and Xbox players wait for full launch on 15 September. If a favourite route is missing on console in the Deluxe window, it is the compatibility gate, not a deleted purchase.
Read compatible content before you assume a TSW4 German ICE will layer onto Nürnberg–Würzburg on night one. Freight Hauler itself stays on TSW7 core routes at launch even if your back catalogue is huge.
First session after the download
Do not start with ICE 4 unless you already know PZB. Finish Training Center, leave beginner controls on, then pick one geography from the routes hub: Airedale & Wharfedale, Florida Tri-Rail, or Nürnberg–Würzburg. Getting started is the onboarding spine. Game modes explains Timetable, Journey, Conductor, Scenario, Free Roam, and Freight Hauler so you click the right tile.
PC players should check system requirements and graphics settings before turning Epic, DLSS 4.5, or FSR 4 all the way up. Live Weather needs Dovetail Live. Safety systems default on; that is intentional.
The next dated add-on after full launch is the Tadami Line on 29 September 2026. Everything else sits on the roadmap. The updates hub is the index if you arrived here from search and still need the partner list.
If the store still shows a pre-order tile on the 10th, you bought Standard. Deluxe and Ultimate are the SKUs that open early. Switching editions is a store-front problem, not a wiki toggle. Buy the correct SKU, wait for the clock, then download in the order above.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What time does Deluxe early access start?
10 September 2026 at 16:00 BST on Xbox and PlayStation, and 18:00 BST on Steam and Epic. Full launch is 15 September 2026. See the updates hub for the wider calendar.
Can Standard Edition play on 10 September 2026?
No. 10 September is Deluxe and Ultimate early access. Standard and Free Starter wait for full launch on 15 September. SKUs are compared on editions.
Why is my Train Sim World 7 menu empty?
Standard needs Free Starter plus four route add-on downloads. The game can open after Starter alone. Close it and finish the queue. Steps are in how to download Train Sim World 7.
Does Steam preload Train Sim World 7?
No. Steam and Epic have no preload. PlayStation preloads 48 hours before early access or release. Xbox preloads from the pre-order date.
When do consoles get compatible older routes?
At full launch on 15 September 2026. Steam can use compatible content during early access. Read compatible content.
Can I buy routes without Standard after launch?
Yes. After 15 September 2026, Free Starter owners can buy the core routes and Deluxe locos separately. That option is not a way into the 10 September early-access window.
