Tadami Line in Train Sim World 7

Union Workshop's first Train Sim World route: rural Fukushima, 29 September 2026, not a core launch route.

Last updated:

Tadami Line Japan Route

Tadami Line is the first Japan route in Train Sim World and Union Workshop’s first title for the series. It is not a launch-day core route. Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate still open with Airedale & Wharfedale, Florida Tri-Rail, and Nürnberg–Würzburg. Tadami Line: Aizu-Wakamatsu – Tadami is a paid add-on dated 29 September 2026 at £29.99 / €35.99 / $39.99.

Full launch for Train Sim World 7 is 15 September 2026. Deluxe and Ultimate editions open five days of early access from 10 September 2026. Neither date is Tadami. Treat this page as a later-add-on briefing, then keep the roadmap open for the final store listing.

What the add-on covers

The modelled railway runs Aizu-Wakamatsu to Tadami in Fukushima Prefecture: 88 km of rural single-track, 28 stations, dense forests, river valleys, traditional towns, dams, and iconic bridges. Seasonal scenery includes spring cherry blossom and winter snow. The line takes passengers away from city bustle into Oku Aizu. That is a different rhythm from Yorkshire commuting, Miami hours, or Franconian ICE.

Traction is the classic KiHa 40 diesel railcar. Official materials list three liveries, including JNR Orange, Niigata White and Blue, and Tohoku White and Green. Units can run individually or in multiple. Japanese signalling and ATS safety systems are part of the add-on, along with an accessible tutorial and route introduction.

Play modes listed for the route are Tutorial, Journey, Route Tasks, and Free Roam, plus the Livery Designer, Formation Designer, and Scenario Planner tools. Five scenarios cover different sections and seasons. An authentic timetable based on real-world operations is included. Do not expect the core-route Deluxe extras (Class 333, GP49H-3, ICE 4) to appear here; those belong on the three launch railways and the deluxe locomotives page.

Why it is separate from the core trio

Train Sim World 7’s Standard SKU is three new core routes. Tadami Line is Partner Programme content from Union Workshop, sold on its own date. Buying Deluxe or Ultimate does not fold Tadami into the 15 September menu. Compare those SKUs on the editions page so you do not confuse early access with this add-on.

The core trio is built for mixed traffic. Yorkshire has Northern EMUs, Azuma, and limestone. Florida has Tri-Rail push-pull and CSX locals. Germany has 717 services including ICE and Vectron freight. Tadami is a scenic rural DMU railway. If you want Freight Hauler on launch day, that mode is documented against the core routes, not as a Tadami headline.

Union Workshop previously built the Tadami Line for Train Simulator Classic. The Train Sim World version is a new product for this series, not a Classic pack you copy across. Wishlist and purchase it inside Train Sim World 7 when the store page goes live for your platform.

How to prepare before 29 September

Finish Training Center with getting started and drive at least one core route first. A slow rural DMU is easier to enjoy when you already know how Train Sim World 7 handles tutorials, Journey, and route tasks. Use the routes hub to pick Yorkshire, Florida, or Germany for the 15 September window.

If your interest is rolling stock rather than geography, start on the trains hub. KiHa 40 is the Tadami star; it is not a Deluxe locomotive and it is not a substitute for ICE 4 or Class 333. Deluxe extras stay on the core routes.

Keep expectations tight. Official TSW7 notes confirm 88 km, 28 stations, KiHa 40, Japanese signalling and ATS, five seasonal scenarios, timetable, tutorial, Journey, Route Tasks, Free Roam, and the three creator tools. Do not assume Classic-era scenario names, extra traction, or a launch-day discount unless Dovetail restates them for this add-on.

Price, date, and store notes

Dovetail lists the add-on at £29.99 / €35.99 / $39.99 with a 29 September 2026 date. Platform store pages can show local tax and regional pricing on top of those figures. The YouTube showcase on this page is a coming-soon look, not a substitute for the store description on the day.

Tadami Line does not change the 10 September early-access window or the 15 September full launch. Deluxe and Ultimate players still enter the three core routes first. This add-on follows later in the same month. If a roadmap slide moves the date, trust the roadmap over older trailers.

After you own it

Run the tutorial and route introduction before Free Roam. The railway is single-track with passing points; timetable discipline matters more than top speed. Use Journey and Route Tasks to see the seasons, then the scenario planner if you want custom work. Livery and formation tools are there for KiHa 40, not for importing a Yorkshire Class 331 onto Fukushima metals.

When you want commuting, ICE, or CSX switching again, jump back to the core trio from the routes hub. Tadami Line is the Japan chapter, dated 29 September 2026, sold on its own, and worth waiting for if rural scenery is the point of your next purchase.
